I appear to be coming down with something. I’ve got a sore throat, headache, I’m tired and achy, but not congested. I don’t have a fever or the chills so I don’t think it’s the flu. But if it is, it’s coming on very, very slowly.

And how!

This is going to be a nerdy one.
Firefox 4: Mozilla made a big deal about how Firefox would start using the computer’s GPU to help render web pages. Well, pages do render faster, especially high-end pages. However, the downside is that the font rendering is crap.
This is with the D2D turned on:
This is without D2D turned on:
(and yes, you’d need a closer look to tell the difference).
What sucks is that the whole program is affected. It’s not just the pages that have horrible looking fonts; the actual program itself looks like crap, too.
I suppose I’ll just leave that turned off until it’s fixed.
This is a picture of a small pool. You can’t see it very well, but there are turtles swimming in that pool. This was taken at McConnell Springs Park in Lexington, KY. I watched the turtles for almost ten minutes; they seemed very happy swimming in circles. I guess it’s difficult to determine the emotional state of a turtle, but I’ll assume they were happy.
I was slightly bored this evening, so I decided to clean up my Documents folder. I got rid of a lot of stuff that was junk and I cleaned up the rest. Then I uploaded it to the cloud, so to speak. I'm still trying to decide whether I like Office Live or Google Docs. Office Live seems to be better and handling the documents, it seems.
I know where my nose is. However, my neck is hurting. I’m going to make sure I do sit-ups differently in the future.
This month is dragging on a bit longer than I would prefer. I’m looking forward to the 28th and the Fark party in Cincinnati, but I fear I may not be able to get there. We shall see.
J’espère que il fait soleil le matin. Je voudrais aller à pied en le soleil.
And yet I am awake. Vacation is almost over, for this I am sad. Otherwise, I am not.
I’ll write something more useful later.
My vacation is halfway over. I don’t know what else to say. It’s not been that great, but I’m glad it hasn’t been worse. Still, the time off work is quite nice. I’m enjoying that.
Which is something that almost everyone has heard. Odd when you think about it.
It has occurred to me that I’m not very photogenic. I’m fine with that; many people are not and that’s nothing to be ashamed of. On a completely unrelated note: I must practice my photoshop skills.
Why can’t I sleep?
J’ai besoin dormir. Je veux dormir. Mais je ne peux pas dormir. Quand finalement je dors, je serai heureux. Il paraît que je ne pratique le français. Mais je le pratique tous les jours. Je ne sais pas…
It works better like that, don’t ask me why. For some reason, I’ve been rather ill tempered, as of late. I need to figure out why.
It might have to do with having a crap internet connection router. It’s an old 802.11g, which shouldn’t be that slow, but apparently is.
Merde.
J’ai besoin acheter un nouveau routeur.
If I remember correctly, this was titled “Excess”. My roommate in college had a habit of going to all the local Big Lots stores looking for recently expired cereal. Specifically, he would get Kellogg’s brand cereals that had the American Airlines Sky Miles offer on them. Because they were recently expired, he was able to get them ridiculously cheap; something like $.10/box, if I remember correctly.
By the end of second semester 2004, he had almost 40 boxes of Just Right.
Durant cet été, nous mangions beaucoup de céréales.
